About me
I I am a field biologist and ornithologist, passionate about wildlife, especially in Africa. As a researcher, I am interested in animal communication and cooperative behavior. I did my PhD on the duetting and chorusing behavior of the Yellow-breasted Barbet (Trachyphonus margaritatus), a cooperative breeding bird species.
I am currently working as researcher and manager of protected areas at the Association Decan in Djibouti. I have been collaborating with this association for a decade and participated in different activities, especially gathering data about the different species of mammals, birds and reptiles in Djibouti. I focus my attention on four different topics: education and awareness actions toward a better public recognition of the value of the biodiversity in Djibouti; Wildlife management and preservation of the flora and habitat restoration; fight against desertification; developing sustainable usages of the lands and the natural resources in the Horn of Africa.
